Hodges Vineyards

Elke and Earl Hodges began to build the winery and plant vines in 2008. Earl had been making wine as a hobby for several years and so enjoyed it that he decided to turn his hobby into a business.  The plan was to bring a little elegance to East Central Alabama.

Since we opened our doors in May of 2011, we’ve developed a loyal follwing of repeat   customers.  People tell us that in addition to enjoying our wine, they enjoy visiting because we treat every customer as if they were part of our family.  Other wineries may offer similar services but we know our customers enjoy the personal touch and friendliness they experience when they visit as well.

Our wine list changes frequently.  There may be some that are sold out, and new wines available. Mr. Hodges likes to experiment with new varieties and wine blends to keep things interesting. In 2014 we planted several new varieties of grapes and are in the process of planting yet another new variety called Champanell.  All wines are crafted and bottled on site.

Types of wine we have in our tasting room: Several muscadines of varying sweetness, including whites and reds; several Syrahs, a Merlot, a Riesling, blueberry, blackberry, and apple. At this time we have ~17 wines on our wine list.
